USDA and the National Center for Appropriate Technology invites farmers, ranchers and community leaders to attend a community partners meeting at the Natural Resources Conservation Service Office at: 4500 Glenwood Dr. Building F. Riverside, Calif., 92501. For information, contact Narcizo Guerrero (951) 684-3722 Ext: 105 or Narcizo.Guerrero@ca.usda.gov
The goal of the partner meeting is to gain insight into agriculture topics, from farmers, Ag industry, and support organizations. This information is essential for helping plan the 3rd annual “Growing Together” Latino Farmer Conference to be held November 7th in Palm Desert, Calif.
For registration and event details, visit https://latinofarmerconference.ncat.org/sponsor.php.
According to the USDA agricultural census, there are over 8,000 registered Hispanic farmers and ranchers in California. Hispanic farmers are now growing at two times the rate of the traditional farmers. USDA leadership has identified these farmers as being historically underserved. This conference looks to extend the reach to these farmers and is held annually in California.
We invite all support organizations with a Hispanic/Latino customer interest to attend the community partners meeting. This is the perfect opportunity to share input with the conference planners, on topics of interest to the farmers, Ag Industry and the community at large as we grow a network and develop the future of the “Growing Together” Latino Farmer Conference.
To RSVP, contact Victor M. Hernandez at victor.hernandez@ca.usda.gov or (530) 792-5628 and Thea Rittenhouse at thear@ncat.org or (530) 792-7338.
