Acorns to Oaks
A partnership with the Rivers & Lands Conservancy

IERCD partners with a variety of organizations to promote good stewardship of our soil, water and other natural resources. One outstanding example is The Rivers & Lands Conservancy's Acorns to Oaks Program.
IERCD is proud to support Rivers & Lands Conservancy's Acorns to Oaks Program engages Banning High School biology students in oak woodland restoration through place-based, hands-on education that enhances classroom learning while also providing real world benefits to our local oak woodland ecosystem. Acorns to Oaks not only provides avenues for hands-on science learning, it also introduces students to careers in natural resource conservation while developing their connection to the natural world. Acorns to Oaks takes place on RLC's Cienega Canyon Preserve and is provided through a partnership between RLC and the Inland Empire Resource Conservation District. Each year, staff from the IERCD's Natural Resource team commit to mentoring and leading students in the Acorns to Oaks program.
